Bobbi Campbell is a Principal in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial team, bringing over 20 years of experience as an advisor and international lawyer to the firm. 

Bobbi started her career in Sydney working for what is now Allens Linklaters before moving to major media corporation Foxtel Management. In 2001 Bobbi ventured to Hong Kong joining News Corporation and then The Walt Disney Company as the Asia Pacific Vice President, Head of Legal.      

Most recently Bobbi has advised the Commonwealth Government on policy and programs, governance, assurance and communications.  

From this experience she has gained a deep understanding of Commonwealth Government frameworks, requirements and operating environment.

Well regarded in both the private and public sectors, Bobbi has a demonstrated ability to provide innovative and pragmatic solutions to complex issues to ensure sustainable outcomes for her clients.

Extensive experience with corporate and commercial advising and negotiations on large scale joint ventures and acquisitions across Asia Pacific. Led negotiations for large infrastructure, garrison procurements and peak body amalgamation agreement for the Commonwealth Government. Advised on Machinery of Government changes to enable successful amalgamation of departments and teams. Established best practices within legal and governance teams across several Commonwealth Departments.

Supported on all legal matters associated with News Corporations Asia operations and across 15 lines of business for The Walt Disney (Asia Pacific) Ltd. Most recently supported the ABC’s response to ACCC Digital Platforms Inquiry & Competitive Neutrality Review to ensure ABC’s continued compliance with it’s Charter.
Represented The Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) Ltd in collaborating with over 150 media organisations to establish priorities for  productive engagement with regulators across the Asia Pacific Region. This included advising on broadcast regulations and leading on negotiations with regulators to improve market access, enforce IP rights and drive greater focus on the protection of Intellectual Property rights for artists and content owners.

Led on intellectual property advising, licensing and enforcement activities across Asia Pacific region during her time at The Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) Ltd.

Work Undertaken

Advised on and negotiated a broad range of Commonwealth Government procurements and tenders, including IT, infrastructure, garrison and health provider services. Advised on preparation and evaluation of requests for tender and other procurement documentation, as well as on provider performance and management.  Negotiated panel arrangements, advised on compliance with Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR’s) and Legal Services Directions 2017.
Bobbi also led the Indigenous Health Division for the Commonwealth Department of Health and was responsible for administering Government grants and procurements under the Indigenous Australians Health Program to the value of approximately $1bn. She drafted and advised on Department of Finance Program Guidelines, assessment and evaluation of tenders in accordance with Indigenous Procurement Policy, and led in the formation of evidence based policy and programs for Indigenous Australians.
