McInnes Wilson Lawyers recently acted for longstanding client St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace (part of Edmund Rice Education Australia), in purchasing the former Salvation Army crisis accommodation centre in Spring Hill, Brisbane.

The property, known as Pindari, is situated on approximately 3,600 square metres of land at 28 Quarry Street, Spring Hill and features a multi-level commercial building.

The property is adjacent to Terrace's existing Waterford Place Campus and will be used to enhance the learning environment and develop contemporary learning spaces for the students.

The purchase was completed in July 2022 and is a strategic acquisition that will benefit Terrace students and staff for years to come.

Principal Tim Smith and Solicitor Nick Wilson advised Terrace on all aspects of the transaction, including:

  • Performing due diligence;
  • Advising on duty, tax, and rates exemptions;
  • Contract negotiations; and
  • Completing the acquisition.
