Principal Tim Smith is pleased to have recently assisted a charter and contract bus services provider client in successfully pursuing their expansion plans.

Tim assisted with their recent acquisition of several established bus services businesses as well as the acquisition of additional industrial and employee residence sites.

When unable to secure a larger acquisition, Tim assisted the client to pivot its strategy. The client instead surged forward with a series of smaller acquisitions that were identified as a ‘great fit’ with their existing core businesses and that could quickly be brought ‘into the fold’. By restructuring its finance on Tim’s advice, the client has also been able to ensure that it remains able to act quickly should further acquisition opportunities arise.

Tim supported the client through all aspects of the transactions, including:

  • group refinance;
  • due diligence;
  • contract negotiations;
  • completion of the transactions; and
  • post-completion matters (including a bonus of a refund of additional duty paid).

The strategy adopted by Tim’s client demonstrates that large acquisitions are not the only way to accelerate your business expansion plans and that multiple targeted and smaller acquisitions can also be a winning approach to consider.

If you would like to see how we can assist you with your business expansion ambitions, please contact Tim directly on (07) 3231 0628, or tsmith@mcw.com.au.
