Private Client
P&E COURT APPEAL
Client problem

Alex’s client wished to extend their home. However, the local council refused the client’s development application due to potential environmental concerns and conflicts with draft planning and other technical materials/information. Alex’s client commenced an appeal of that decision in the Planning and Environment Court.

outcome achieved

Alex consulted and collaborated with the relevant technical specialists to provide the material necessary to persuade the council to allow the extension and end the appeal. As a result, the client was permitted to construct the extension as sought.

Local Government
COMPLIANCE
Client problem

A landowner asked the local government to confirm its position concerning structures on their land. The subject structures had been in place for some time, and the legislative regime had changed several times since their construction. This meant that the avenues for local government to take action in respect of those structures were complicated.

outcome achieved

Alex provided advice to the local government about its options regarding the structures and assisted it to communicate with the landowner about the structures any future legal action that may relate to them.
