At McInnes Wilson Lawyers, we pride ourselves on being compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) for the last 20+ years. This year, we will be applying for the certification WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality to uphold our vision of being an employer of choice. In addition, we have signed the #IStandForRespect pledge to help eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace. As members of the Diversity Council of Australia, and CEO of McInnes Wilson Lawyers, I stand against gendered harassment and violence in all its forms, and I commit to taking steps in my organisation to address sexual and sex-based harassment to make the workplace safer for everyone.

We have also signed up again this year to be ambassadors to the WGEA Pay Equity Pledge. We are committed to working with the WGEA to improve gender equality. Our organisation wide gender pay gap has reduced over the past years, as a direct result of our efforts to make sure we pay our people equally and fairly. We will continue to reduce the organisation wide gender pay gap to our target of 30% in 2023.

We are also pleased to announce that more than 86% of our senior promotions were women this year, with 5 out of 6 partner appointments being females. Diversity and inclusiveness are at the core of our workplace values.

Gender equality is a culture, which we create through sound leadership, empathy and mutual appreciation. We are committed to fostering a workplace culture that eradicates gender bias, discrimination and exclusivity, and a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.
