Applications for our Summer Clerkship Program are now open. 

Each Clerkship will run for a three week period, either from 1 – 19 December 2008 OR from 12 – 21 January 2009 and successful incumbents will be required to work from 7.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday during this period.  Please note, clerkship positions will be allocated to one Division for the duration of the program (.i.e there will not be a rotation system).

Applications

Applications must be electronic (postal applications will not be accepted) and can be made by clicking on the “Apply now” button. 

To apply for the Summer Clerkship, please provide the following:

· A detailed cover letter that includes the following.

­      - Degree type and current stage in studies (including GPA average)

­      - Statement of personal attributes and skills

­      - Area/s of law  you are interested in

­      - A statement as to why you are applying to our Firm

­      - A statement of what you seek to achieve / learn by completing the Clerkship

­      - Location preference (Brisbane, Maroochydore or Southport office)

­      - Preferences for the pre or post Christmas clerkship period

· A current curriculum vitae that outlines your personal details, previous employment experience, awards / achievements, details of any volunteer experience obtained, non-work interests and at least 3 referees. Other information can be included at your discretion, with curriculum vitaes not to exceed four (4) pages in length.

· A certified copy of your academic record to date.

Selection Process

Applications close on 10 September at 5.00pm and late applications will not be accepted. Candidates will be reviewed for short listing by Wednesday 24 September and those that have not been contacted by this date will have been unsuccessful. Offers for the Clerkships will be made on Monday 1 October and must be accepted by Wednesday 3 October 2008.
